In a candid conversation with a leading daily, Tabu unveiled layers of her enduring friendship with Ajay Devgn, spanning back to their growing-up years. According to Tabu, Ajay, a neighbour and chum of her cousin Sameer Arya, was indeed her childhood bully and protector. Notorious for spying on her and warning off potential boyfriends, Ajay was playful yet protective. Reflecting on this, Tabu jokingly blamed him for her single status, adding a light-hearted demand for his repentance.
"He was my cousin Sameer Arya's neighbour and close buddy, a part of my growing up years and that has laid the foundation of our relationship. When I was young, Sameer and Ajay would spy on me, follow me around and threaten to beat up any boys who are caught talking to me. They were the big bullies and if I am single today, it is because of Ajay. I hope he repents and regrets what he did," Tabu told Mumbai Mirror.
Unconditional Affection And Continual Support
Tabu appreciates Ajay's dual nature of being childlike yet protective. She holds dear their unique relationship marked with unconditional affection, highlighting Ajay's presence as a stress reliever on set. Yet when it comes to settling down, Tabu revealed on RJ Siddharth Kanan's show that Ajay will unlikely prompt her to marry as he respects her independence. Adding to this, Ajay affirms that their shared history and camaraderie is good for her.
Despite speculations, Tabu has her version of a settled life- a close-knit bond with Ajay and his family. She considers her rapport with his family as an inseparable part of her life. Be it their childhood memories or their collaboration on screen, the duo's unique friendship stands the test of time. The duo was last seen together in Drishyam 2, which released last year and garnered an amazing response at the box office.
