SRK
Old
Video:
The
1990s
marked
a
chilling
period
for
Bollywood
as
the
film
industry
faced
an
escalating
menace
from
the
underworld.
The
unsettling
atmosphere
was
aggravated
by
tragic
incidents,
such
as
the
assassination
of
Gulshan
Kumar
in
1997
and
the
targeted
attack
on
producer
Rajiv
Rai.
During
this
era,
even
the
most
prominent
stars
found
themselves
receiving
threatening
phone
calls
from
the
mafia,
including
Shah
Rukh
Khan,
who
was
a
reigning
superstar
at
that
time.
The
film
fraternity
remained
on
high
alert,
acutely
aware
of
the
ever-present
threat
that
loomed
over
their
industry.
SHAH
RUKH
KHAN'S
OLD
VIDEO
ON
UNDERWORLD
RESURFACES
An
old
video
of
SRK
has
now
resurfaced
from
the
90s
in
which
he
talks
about
the
influence
of
Bollywood
and
how
even
he
received
threats
from
gangsters
back
then.
The
clip
has
been
shared
on
Reddit
in
which
the
superstar
answers
a
reporter's
question
about
the
underworld
threat
and
said,
"They
would
set
up
a
system
and
they
would
say,
you
do
it.
I
may
not
have
succumbed
to
it
but
then
they
shoot
you.
So,
sometimes,
it's
nicer
to
do
a
film
than
die."
On
being
why
it
is
happening
in
India,
the
actor
stated,
"We
are
the
biggest
industry
in
India
right
now
or
the
easiest
industry
to
take
on
right
now.
We're
the
largest
producers
of
films
in
the
world.
They
do
try
to
back
a
film,
they
try
to
create
a
product.
They've
four-five
of
their
guys
here
and
they'll
say,
okay,
Shah
Rukh
you've
got
to
do
this
film,
or
X
hero
you
have
to
do
this
film,
X
heroine
you've
to
do
this
film.
And
I
said,
'Who's
the
producer?'
He
said,
'Okay,
this
is
the
guy
we're
sending.
Talk
to
him,
sign
the
film.'
So,
if
you're
scared
for
life
then
you
sign
it.
If
you're
ready
to
take
your
chances,
you
say
'I'm
not
going
to
sign
it'."
The
reporter
further
asks
SRK
if
he
ever
had
his
life
threatened.
He
replied,
"Yes,
I've
had
it
on
many
occasions.
But
then,
I
had
a
lot
of
security
for
three
years."
By
god's
grace,
Bollywood
has
moved
ahead
of
that
phase
and
it's
no
more
under
the
influence
of
underworld
or
gangsters.
UPCOMING
FILMS
OF
SHAH
RUKH
KHAN
Earlier
this
year,
SRK
finally
returned
to
the
silver
screen
with
Pathaan
after
a
gap
of
four
years
and
broke
many
box
office
records.
After
the
blockbuster
success
of
the
spy
thriller,
the
superstar
currently
has
