Despite being her trusted confidant and manager, Amit couldn't maintain his daughter's trust when it came to her finances. The actress then took the legal route to address the mismanagement of her financial accounts and assets, which were valued at over Rs. 12 crores.

In a candid interview with the Hindustan Times, Ameesha Patel talked about the issue, and said, "Why should I feel ashamed? My money belongs to no one but me, and not even my parents have the right to take it away. In fact, my grandmother is supporting me. My parents have fooled her too."

The legal feud between Ameesha Patel and her father Amit Patel not only shed light on issues of trust and financial accountability within their family but also had a significant impact on Ameesha's romantic relationship with filmmaker Vikram Bhatt.
