‘She Has To Be More Respectful…’: When Jaya Bachchan Opened Up On Disagreements With Aishwarya Rai

Jaya Bachchan On Her Bond With Aishwarya Rai: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan set gossip mills buzzing after she cropped her mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan from the birthday post of her father-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan. While several media reports might hint at an alleged tiff between the two Bachchan ladies, they share a great bond.
On multiple occasions, Jaya Bachchan has talked about her relationship with her daughter-in-law and heaped praise on her. One such incident dates back to an old interview from 2010 when the veteran actress expressed her straightforward approach to any differences with Aishwarya.
WHEN JAYA BACHCHAN CALLED AISHWARYA RAI HER BUDDY
In a conversation with Rediff, Jaya Bachchan called Aishwarya her buddy and said, "If I don't like something about her, I tell her on her face. I don't do politics behind her back. If she disagrees with me, she expresses herself. The only difference is that I can be a little more dramatic, and she has to be more respectful. I am old, you know. That's all."
Highlighting their close-knit relationship, Jaya shared, "We really enjoy sitting at home and talking rubbish. Just the two of us. She doesn't have much time, but whatever she does, we enjoy. I have a great relationship with her."
WHEN ABHISHEK BACHCHAN REVEALED HOW JAYA BACHCHAN & AISHWARYA GANG UP AGAINST HIM
The camaraderie doesn't stop at just the two of them. In a 2015 interview with DNA, Abhishek Bachchan humorously revealed, "Ma and Ash gang up against me, and they keep rattling on in Bengali. (Laughs) Mom knows the language because she is Bengali, and Aishwarya had worked with Rituda (the late Rituparno Ghosh) in 'Chokher Bali,' so she also can speak the language quite well. So whenever they have to team up against me, they start talking in Bengali."
AISHWARYA RAI'S WORK-FRONT
On the professional front, Aishwarya Rai was last seen in Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan I & II.
