Are you guys wondering who are we talking about? Well, her name is Ritu Chaudhry and we know her as 'Mahima Chaudhry'. Born on 13th September 1973 in Darjeeling to a Jatt father and a Nepali mother, Mahima Chaudhry made her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Subash Ghai-directed 'Pardes' (1997). Before foraying into acting, she did quite a few modelling assignments.

Back in 1999, Mahima's face was badly injured after a horrific car accident when she was shooting for Ajay Devgn-Kajol's film 'Dil Kya Kare'. On the way to Bengaluru to the shooting location, a truck had rammed into her car and sent shards of glass flying into her face.

"I thought I was dying, and at that point, no one even helped me get to the hospital. It is only after reaching the hospital, much later, when my mother came, Ajay came and they went to discuss. I got up and saw my face in the mirror and saw the horror. When they did the surgery on me, they took out 67 glass pieces," she had said during an interview.

When Mahima Chaudhry Defeated Cancer And Emerged Warrior

The 'Dil Hai Tumhara' actress was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023. However, she got herself treated and defeated cancer for her daughter. She became cancer-free within months and talked about her cancer journey by calling it a 'psychological battle' in a video shared by Anupam Kher.

Mahima Chaudhry Bollywood Comeback

On the work front, Mahima Chaudhry is all set to make her acting comeback in Kangana Ranaut's 'Emergency'.
