KBR,
Mid-Day
Wednesday,
May
10,
2006
Arshad
Warsi
(famous
as
Munnabhai
MBBS's
Circuit)
got
back
from
Goa
last
week,
and
fell
prey
to
a
bad
bout
of
food
poisoning.
But
instead
of
being
hospitalised,
Arshad
says
he
had
to
complete
his
shoot
commitments...
What
happened?
The
actor
was
on
heavy
medication
when
we
caught
up
with
him.
Says
Arshad,
"I
came
back
from
Goa
last
Thursday
and
attended
one
of
Zeke's
(his
son)
friend's
birthday
parties.
The
next
thing
I
knew,
I
was
down
with
a
severe
attack
of
food
poisoning
and
stomach
cramps.
I
must
have
eaten
something
somewhere.
I
got
really
sick
and
my
doctor
had
to
come
over."
Why
wasn't
he
hospitalised?
"I
haven't
got
the
chance
for
a
break
as
I
have
been
shooting
continuously.
Commitment
hai,
kya
karein?
The
doctor
wanted
me
to
be
admitted
to
hospital
for
a
few
days,
as
it
seemed
really
bad,
but
I
had
my
commitments.
From
Goa,
I
headed
straight
for
a
song
recording
of
Munnabhai
Second
Innings,
and
then,
that
night,
for
the
shoot
of
Rohit
Shetty's
Golmal.
If
I
hadn't
gone,
the
song
recording
and
the
shooting
would
have
been
held
up.
I
am
still
on
heavy
medication.
For
two
days,
it
was
quite
tough.
This
is
where
my
acting
talent
comes
in
-
you
see
me
behaving
normally,
with
a
big
smile
on
my
face,
but
in
reality,
my
head
is
in
a
whirl
and
my
stomach
is
hurting
badly."
After
shooting
was
over,
the
Golmal
cast
and
crew
had
a
small
party
at
the
producer's
bungalow,
in
Madh
Island.
Did
Arshad
attend?
"I
went
for
the
party
as
a
formality,
and
was
there
only
10
minutes,"
he
says.
Yesterday,
Arshad
and
wife
Maria
also
co-hosted
Star
Gold's
Sabse
Favourite
Kaun
show.
"Yes,
it's
the
last
show,
with
a
live
event
at
the
Hyatt.
I
am
wearing
a
jeans,
coat
and
a
Zara
shirt,"
says
the
actor.
It's
heard
that
he's
been
editing
along
with
director
Raj
Kaushal,
for
Anthony
Kaun
Hai.
"What
rubbish!
Where
do
I
have
the
time
to
sit
and
edit?"
he
drawls.
"They
asked
me
to
come
and
watch
the
rushes,
and
that's
what
I
did.
It's
shaped
up
fantastically,
as
has
Golmal.
Initially,
I
was
hesitant
about
what
an
action
director
would
do
with
a
comedy,
but
Rohit's
done
a
super
job.
There's
even
an
ace
up
my
sleeve
in
the
film.
I
am
excited
about
all
my
releases
-Anthony
Kaun
Hai,
Kabul
Express,
Munnabhai
Second
Innings
and
Golmal."
First
song
Arshad
is
excited
and
nervous
about
the
song,
Samjho
Ho
Gaya,
which
he
has
sung
with
Sanjay
Dutt
for
Munnabhai
Second
Innings.
"Yes,
Sanju
and
I
have
sung
it
ourselves.
It's
a
proper
song,
with
music
by
Shantanu
Moitra.
I
can't
even
sing
Happy
Birthday,
but
the
director
(Rajkumar
Hirani)
kept
encouraging
me.
Finally,
Shantanu
also
said,
'Come
on
Arshad,
you
can
do
it.' I
was
very
nervous,
but
they
said
it
was
only
dialogues.
But
it
was
also
singing,
and
though
initially,
I
thought
I
couldn't
do
it,
I
managed.
It's
a
scene
where
Sanju
is
in
love,
and
the
song,
picturised
on
the
streets,
is
about
imagining
being
in
love."
