Frankly,
Mallika's
career
as
an
actress
isn't
going
great
guns.
Other
than
her
Dasavathaaram
in
Tamil,
she
has
nothing
much
to
brag
about.
In
Hindi,
she
suffers
from
a
serious
case
of
over-exposure.
And,
she
is
a
bit
too
expensive
for
South
Indian
films.
These days, she is playing a comedy role in the new Hindi film named Fauj Mein Mauj. Murali Nagavalli, who had once been an associate of director Priyadarshan, is the director of this film. Fauj Mein Mauj is a light-hearted depiction of the Indian Army and Mallika is playing the female lead.
It wasn't possible for the director to take the unit and the entire crew to potentially dangerous locations like Kashmir. So, he decided to pass Kerala as Kashmir in the film. He chose some very scenic but remote locations in God's Own Country to soot the film.
Mallika was given a superstar welcome when she arrived on the sets but the actress was very displeased when she was told that she would have to stay in a non five-star hotel. The director didn't have any previous score to settle against her but he couldn't find her an accommodation in a five-star hotel because there was none nearby.
But Mallika (who probably isn't used to staying in non five-star accommodation) picked up a huge fight and left the shooting spot unannounced. She returned to work on the sets only when the director found the nearest five-star hotel to accommodate her. Star tantrums!
