So it's going to be Khan Versus Khan in the Hindi remake of A.R Murugadoss' Ghajini. In this story of an amnesiac man's hunt for his fiancee's killer (inspired by Christopher Nolan's thriller Memento), The original Tamil leading lady Asin was signed opposite Aamir Khan in the first-half.
Several names including Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut had been tossed around for the part of Aamir's leading lady in the second-half. The 'lucky one' is Jiah Khan who after Nishabd had gone kind of underground. "It's not that," Jiah sniffs suffering as she does, from a severe viral fever. "I was looking at several offers. I chose what I liked best."
Beyond confirming her presence in Ghajini, Jiah is afraid to say anything more for the fear of being dropped from the project. One may recall that Kangana had been considered for the part but was apparently eliminated from the race to win the 'privilege' of working with the mighty Aamir, after the news leaked out.
Interestingly it was being whispered at one time that Jiah was the secret daughter of Aamir Khan's father Tahir Husain, which makes this bit of casting insidiously incestuous. And why isn't Jiah doing any more films with her mentor Ram Gopal Varma?
"Why don't you ask him that?" shoots back Jiah. "Maybe he doesn't have anything that suits me. We haven't fallen out or anything. We connected just two weeks ago."
