Filmmaker Boney Kapoor and wife Sridevi were desperately looking for a hot and talented actress for their film Wanted Dead And Alive, when the picture of Ayesha Takia rushed in. They decided to extract the talent of this actress to the fullest through this film. It is a remake of Tamil blockbuster Pokkiri, which in turn is a remake of Telugu hit Pokiri.
