Genelia hooks up with John

Genelia D'Souza, the bubbly actress of the youth flick Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na has been roped in by the comedy maestro – director David Dhawan for his upcoming film Hook Ya Crook which stars John Abraham as the lead character.

Initially the character, which Genelia will play now in Hook Ya Crook, was supposed to be played by Vidya Balan. But reportedly Bipasha Basu freaked out when she heard that her beau John Abraham was working with Vidya. Well, looks like the rumours during the shoot of Salaam–E–Ishq are still fresh in Bipasha's mind!

A source says, "There is no reason as to why Genelia will not do Hook Ya Crook. She did a fabulous job in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and David is very happy to have her on board."

Hook Ya Crook is a romantic comedy being produced by UTV that will begin its shooting from January 2009 onwards in Hyderabad. Apart from John and Genelia, Uday Chopra is also a part of this comic caper.

Well, all we can say is Vidya's loss turned out to be Genelia's gain!
