No cover for Mallika Sherawat

Mallika Sherawat has been dropped from the international DVD poster (jacket cover) of Anees Bazmee's Welcome because of her differences with producer with Firoz Nadiadwala. Says a source, "Mallika gave Firoz a lot of grief during the making of the film. She would not report to the sets on time, keep asking what Katrina's role in the film, and the producer got back at her by leaving her out of the publicity hoardings. Now he has gone one step ahead and even wiped out Mallika's face from the international DVD cover of Welcome. Though some people are claiming it to be a creative slip-up, the truth is that it was done deliberately.

Anees Bazmee confirms the trouble brewing between Mallika and Firoz, "It's Mallika's loss that her face has been left out of the jacket. When I was shooting in Australia, I heard that Mallika was asking why was she being promoted when she just a guest appearance. She claimed that Firoz was using her for publicity. I called her and asked her what the problem was. Mallika told me that she had some misunderstandings with Firoz."

Anees continues, "I had told her I would come back and sort it out. Maybe the misunderstanding between Firoz and her hasn't been sorted out and that's why she was left out of the cover design. It's enough that stars like Akshay, Katrina, Nana and Anil are there on the DVD cover. It's Mallika's loss, not ours!"
