I haven't got married – Aryan Vaid

Aryan Vaid's Facebook status reads 'married'; he says he's not. Last year, we told you about Aryan Vaid planning to tie the knot early this year with American photographer Alexandra Copley ('Vaid-ing bells'; December 26).

Says a source close to Aryan, "Aryan is baffled by different posts that have been coming up on his Facebook profile."

While yesterday's post at 1.32 am read 'Is so in love and devoted to his amazing wife Alexandra!! She is my world...' he was listed as engaged to Alexandra Copley at 5:19 am on February 24 and 28. On February 25 at 4.42 am he was listed as single. Since the time Aryan was listed as married, he has been flooded with congratulatory messages from friends and well-wishers. He doesn't know what to say."

The source explains, "Apparently Alexandra is very keen to get married but he wants to wait a bit. She's in the US right now and is posting all these comments. She has Aryan's password. Aryan can't tell anyone anything as he doesn't want to hurt Alexandra's feelings but it's becoming very embarrassing for him."

The source adds further, "Aryan is known to be a ladies' man but he hung up his Casanova boots and was ready to settle down after meeting Alexandra. He proposed to her in November; she accepted. They were inseparable since they met. Alexandra had to go back to the USA in January this year. She adores Aryan. She has even met his parents and they love her.

“For the past month, Alexandra has been pushing Aryan for a wedding date. Though he's keen to settle down, he feels they should get married mid-2009. Now strangely Alexandra is getting insecure and has started posting these messages about their marriage."

When we called up Aryan Vaid to congratulate him, he sounded shocked. He said, "But I haven't got married!" When we apprised him of his status he said, "I can't comment on it. I am not married but this is really weird! Let me find out what's happening. I will ask Alexandra and call you back."

But Aryan never called back.
