Shahrukh Khan may be the No 1 star in Bollywood today but during his initial years he wanted to match the success of Aamir Khan. In the newly released book Shah Rukh Can by writer Mushtaq Sheikh, King Khan reveals about his struggling days is Mumbai and how he and his wife Gauri struggled to make both ends meet. He also confesses taking up roles which lesser known actors rejected.
Interestingly the 'King of Romance' was never interested in doing romantic roles at the start of his career and Aditya Chopra had a tough time convincing him to do lover boy roles. The book also reveals how much SRK admired Amitabh Bachchan and considered him to be the biggest superstar in the industry.
In one chapter Shahrukh mentions how he wanted to match Aamir who was flying high after the success of his Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Dil and Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin. Before stepping into Bollywood Shahrukh had vowed ho himself “"I'll destroy Aamir Khan. I'll take over Aamir. Main jab filmon mein aoonga na, baja doonga sabki"!
All we can say is that Shahrukh has not let himself down and established himself as the most bankable star in Bollywood. Now considering the continuous tu tu main main going on between the Shahrukh and Aamir this confession may open another new chapter to the war of words.
