Tanushree and Koena not friends anymore?

All's not well between Koena Mitra, Tanushree Dutta. The former even missed Tanu's b'day. Tanushree Dutta turned 24 yesterday and her sister threw a surprise birthday party for her. Strangely, the birthday girl's best pal Koena Mitra was nowhere around. Apparently, she was away shooting.

Says a source, "Though Tanu and Koena have been very good friends. Tanushree had thrown a surprise party for Koena on January 7 and Koena had supported Tanu when the Horn Ok! Pleassss controversy with Nana Patekar had broken out. But lately, they haven't been in touch with each other. Apparently, Koena was upset about stories of Tanu and her brother, which she felt were fuelled by the actress.

Koena was quite blase about her absence at her BFF's party, "We can celebrate it together only if we both are in town together. I am in Siliguri (North Bengal) for an appearance. I will come back only on March 21. There is nothing wrong between us." When asked if she's bought a gift for the b'day girl, she simply said "No," but added that she wished her.

Tanu, when quizzed about Koena, after a long silence, says, "I haven't been in touch with Koena for months as I have been very busy with my work." When we asked her whether Koena had wished her (again there's a pause) she adds, "No... but maybe she's texted me but I haven't gone through my texts."

On being told that the other actress had confirmed wishing her, she goes through her messages and confirms, "Yes, I just received Koena's message. I guess I will reply in some time..."

Tanu's family's birthday surprise, big gifts Tanushree's younger sister Ishita and friend Mamta hosted a surprise party for her on Wednesday night. Tanushree says, "The party shocked me! They dragged me into the swimming pool at 2 am in night when we were all drunk. We had planned a Paintball Post at the a Powai hotel followed by a dinner of white biryani.

Imagine my shock when they dragged me to a party hall which they had booked days ago, decorated it with balloons and streamers and hired a DJ." But the biggest gift Tanushree got, was a big car from her parents and sister on her birthday. "I have a Honda City, which was the first car I bought after my first film and have been looking at new cars for a while.

Imagine my surprise when dad called me to say they had booked a black Honda CRV for me. I love CRVs as they are big, easy to maintain, super fast and very comfortable for travelling long distances. The car should come in a week's time."
