Aamir was not Kiran's first choice for Dhobi Ghat

Kiran Rao's directorial debut film Dhobi Ghat got very good reviews at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film stars Kiran's husband, actor Aamir Khan in the main lead of the film. Aamir at the press conference in the film festival accepted that he was not Kiran's first choice for the film. She did not want a famous star to play the lead named Arun in the film.

Aamir expressed his grief to the press saying that impressing Kiran and getting the lead role was a tedious task. He disclosed to the media that like others he also had to go undergo a screen test before bagging the role.

Aamir also loved the role of Munna which is played by Prateik Babbar in the movie. Aamir expresses that while he was listening to the narration of the movie he fell in love with wife Kiran all over again. He said that he was so fascinated by the script that he wanted to be a part of it. He even exclaimed that it was one of the best script he had ever read.

Aamir and Kiran met in the sets of the film Lagaan and fell for each other. They got married in the year 2005. Kiran is Aamir's second wife after he got divorced to his first wife Reena.
