Miffed
with
Karan
Johar
over
snide
comments
made,
Akshay
Kumar
turns
down
host's
requests
to
make
appearance
on
his
show
A
random
comment
made
by
Karan
Johar
on
a
public
platform
last
month,
has
earned
him
the
wrath
of
Akshay
Kumar.
During
a
debate
at
FICCI-Frames
2010,
KJo
is
believed
to
have
said,
"What
are
these
movies
Akshay
does?
I
don't
understand
them."
Minutes
after
the
words
were
out
of
the
director's
mouth,
they
were
relayed
to
the
actor.
Obviously,
it
wasn't
received
well.
Akki
felt
it
was
a
deliberate
attempt
to
humiliate
him
on
a
public
platform.
The
director's
closeness
to
his
arch-rival
Shahrukh
Khan
only
added
more
suspect.
Apology
accepted?
After
the
event,
the
politically
correct
Karan
realised
he
made
a
boo-boo
and
he
called
Akki
to
explain
what
he
meant.
He
also
apologised
to
AK
for
having
made
the
statement
at
an
event
where
there
was
a
lot
of
media,
as
well
as
eminent
film
personalities.
The
actor
in
his
characteristic
manner
told
KJo
that
his
apology
was
accepted
and
assured
him
that
he
had
already
forgiven
and
forgotten.
But
it
isn't.
Karan
realised
that
when
despite
repeated
requests
and
invitations
to
appear
on
his
show
Lift
Kara
De,
Akshay
didn't
shoot
for
it.
The
actor
always
took
the
calls,
and
said
he
would
try
to
fit
it
into
his
schedule
but
he
was
remained
'too
busy'.
The
show
has
now
wrapped
up
without
the
Khiladi
appearing
on
it.
Every
other
top
actor
in
the
country
was
part
of
the
show.
Even
a
word
from
the
Yash
Raj
camp
couldn't
get
Kumar
to
patch-up
with
the
host.
Akshay
and
Karan
remained
unavailable
for
comment.
