A self-confessed music-manic, Sanjay Dutt has been instrumental in the creation of Bunty Walia's Lamhaa's soundtrack.

Says a source close to Sanjay, "Sanju has always had an ear for music. Till the time he was associated with White Feather, he would take a personal interest and organize the music with music directors. That's why films like Kaante, Musafir, Plan and Zinda have such good scores. He has a collection of around 8000 LPs and around 22000 audio CDs from around the world."

Few people know that Sanju also listens to the music of his soon-to-be-released films at home. "Initially, Lamhaa was going to have no music as the director Rahul Dholakia didn't want songs but Sanju insisted on a musical score.

“He even sat with the producer Bunty Walia and music director Mithoon to organise everything from scratch. Every night, he would come home from his music sittings and play out the music on his music system. And now, the music is doing well everywhere (released on June 11), and Rahul has admitted that he was doing a mistake by not wanting songs. The Saajna song in Lamhaa is both Sanju and Manyata's favourite song."

Pricey collection
Dutt owns one of the world's most expensive studio monitor speakers in the world - Genelec. "Sanju is very possessive about his music systems and speakers and doesn't let even his wife Manyata touch his speakers. His iPod speakers are specially designed and signed by Ferrari for him and Manyata. It's a limited edition and cost around Rs.21 lakh to create."
