Dev Anand's funeral to be held in London this weekend

The funeral of Bollywood's evergreen actor Dev Anand, who died on Saturday night due to a cardiac arrest at his hotel room in London, is said to be performed in London over this weekend. The 88-year-old star's wife Kalpana Kartik and daughter Devina flew to London the last night to attend his last rites.

Talking to the PTI, a close aide of Dev Anand told, "His son Sunil Anand called me this morning informing that the cremation would take place in London. The cremation would happen on either December 9 or 10 as the authorities concerned will release the body after seven days of his death." He added, "Some kind of inquiry is being conducted as the death had occurred at a hotel."

However, a condolence meeting in Dev Anand's memory would take place in Mumbai. His close aide further said, "There will be a condolence meeting at the Mehboob studio because a make-up room of Dev sahab is still there at the studio. Also, there is some emotional connect as he had shot a lot of films over there. However, no date has been finalised as yet for it."
