Ranbir Kapoor shattered after Shammi's death

Actor Ranbir Kapoor broke in tears after the death of his granduncle Shammi Kapoor. The actor reportedly apart from his family is close to Rajiv Kapoor, however during the shoots of Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar, Ranbir learnt how many things he had in common with the real rockstar. His death has left the actor shattered.

Ranbir apparently wept like a baby after the tragedy, surprising his family even. Interacting with Shammi during the film's shoot opened a whole new world to Ranbir. Interestingly, the young Kapoor restrained crying when his grandmother (Neetu Singh's mother) died last year. The actor was very close to him. However, after losing Shammi, its like losing soul mate for Ranbir.

Though the actor has left for Kolkata to shoot for Anurag Basu's Barfee, Ranbir has gone into an introspective mode. The actor has been deeply affected by the huge loss.
