Rajesh Khanna's marriage with Dimple failed because of his downfall?

Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia met after Dimple broke up with her teenage boyfriend Rishi Kapoor. Dimple Kapadia was 15 years younger to Rajesh Khanna but that did not stop the couple to tie the knot. However, their marriage could not survive for more than 10 years and the reason behind their failed marriage is said to be Rajesh Khanna's downfall.

Rumour has it that Khanna could not accept his failure. He took his success for granted. So, when his films started getting flopped, he became very short tempered. It is said that he used to vent out his frustration on Dimple. Dimple, who left her career for him, was unable to cope with his this kind of behaviour. When she felt that she can't take it more, she decided to leave Khann'a house with their two daughters Twinkle and Rinke Khanna.

The biggest reason for their failed marriage was Khanna's addiction to alcohol and his strange obsession with power. He never accepted his downfall and the reality, because of this the actor was left alone in isolation.
