Rajesh Khanna wanted a son!

Rajesh Khanna was India's first superstar. The actor shocked everyone when he got married to Dimple Kapadia, who was 15 years younger to him. However, their marriage did not last long and Dimple Kapadia started living separately from Rajesh Khanna along with her two daughter Twinkle and Rinke Khanna. But it is said that Rajesh Khanna always wanted a son and when his second daughter was born, he did not see her for months.

According to an article published in Bangalore Mirror website, Rajesh Khanna always wanted a son from Dimple. The article reads, "Dimple had one baby, then another - and she was not yet seventeen. The problems had begun. Rajesh (who'd wanted a son) did not look at the second daughter for months, and the family forgot to give the poor child a name. Dimple stayed on with her parents who had begun to rant against their son-in-law."

However, in the last years of his life, Rajesh Khanna apologised to Dimple. Reportedly, when he was very ill, Dimple Kapadia shifted to his residence Aashirwad to take care of the ailing star.
