By Puri

Superstar Shahrukh Khan has sent an application to the Trade Mark Registry that his initials 'SRK' should not be used without his permission.

The name Shahrukh Khan is a brand itself. The actor has recently applied for a trademark of his initials SRK at the Delhi office of the Trade Mark Registry. However, Shahrukh Khan has not received any confirmation from the office.

A source told a leading daily, "SRK has become bigger with every project. He has taken this decision after a lot of thought. Career wise, it is a great decision to safeguard his brand."

In the past, star cricketer Sachin Tendulkar applied for the same thing. Interestingly, Vidhu Vinod Chopra took Sachin's permission before using his name in the film Ferrari Ki Sawaari.

In the west, Roger Federer, Michael Jordon and Jennifer Lopez are the celebrities who have trademarked their name in the past.
