The
story
of
Shahrukh
Khan's
Jab
Tak
Hai
Jaan
is
somewhat
similar
to
1951
novel,
The
End
Of
Affair,
written
by
Graham
Greene.
In
the
novel,
an
upcoming
writer
in
London
meets
a
girl,
who
is
a
civil
servant,
during
World
War
II.
They
both
fall
in
love
instantly
but
the
girl
refuses
to
leave
her
boring
husband.
Later,
their
apartment
is
bombed
nearly
killing
the
writer.
After
the
blast,
the
girl
leaves
the
writer.
The
writer
finds
out
after
years
that
the
girl
had
made
a
promise
to
God
that
she
would
never
see
him
again
if
God
spared
his
life.
On
the
other
hand,
Jab
Tak
Hai
Jaan
tells
the
story
of
Major
Samar
Anand,
a
bomb
disposal
expert
in
the
Indian
Army.
Samar
is
separated
from
his
lady
love
Meera,
played
by
Katrina
Kaif
because
she
made
a
promise
to
God.
When
Samar
meets
with
an
accident,
Meera
says
to
God
that
she
will
never
meet
Samar
again
if
God
will
save
his
life.
Is
Jab
Tak
Hai
Jaan
inspired
from
the
novel
or
is
it
just
a
coincidence?
Well,
only
God
knows!
