Vidya Balan bags National Award for The Dirty Picture!!!

Actress Vidya Balan, who is busy promoting her upcoming movie Kahaani in Dubai, has bagged the National Award in the Best Actress category, which will be officially announced today in Delhi. The Malayali girl is being honoured for her power-packed performance in the hit movie The Dirty Picture.

Vidya Balan has played south sex symbol Silk Smitha in the Bollwood biopic The Dirty Picture, directed by Milan Luthriya. The Bollywood actress has already received lots of accolades from both critics and viewers for her acting in the film. Besides this, she has also won several awards.

It was reported earlier that Vidya Balan was the frontrunner for the Best Actress Award too. Now, she has officially been selected for this National honour. This happens to be the hat-trick success for Vidya Balan, who has been winning the National Award for three consecutive years for R Balki’s Paa, Vishal Bhadrwaj’s Ishqiya and now Milan Luthria’s The Dirty Picture.
