Confirmed: Arjun Kapoor-Varun Dhawan, The New Age Ram Lakhan

From the time Karan Johar announced his project of remaking classic hit films, Ram Lakhan by collaborating with director Rohit Shetty, a lot of speculations have been turning rife as to who will be cast as the lead actors.

Arjun Kapoor has been confirmed to play the role of Lakhan, a character that was brought to life by his uncle Anil Kapoor in the original. While Arjun was thrilled with this opportunity, it was not yet confirmed who would be playing Ram in the movie.

Unlike some rumours going round in the industry, Rohit Shetty had never approached Ranbir Kapoor to play the lead role in the movie. In fact Rohit Shetty and Ranbir are planning a different project together, whose detailshave not yet been divuged.

So for the role of Ram, Arjun's close friend Varun Dhawan has been approached, Karan Johar is in talks with the actor so within days the makers of this Ram Lakhan remake movie may announce officially as to who are the lead actors in the movie.

Ram Lakhan is a Hindi movie that released in 1989. It was produced and directed by Subhash Ghai and had an ensemble cast, including Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Madhuri Dixit, Dimple Kapadia and Raakhee.

While the lead actors have almost been confirmed, it is yet to see which two actresses will be cast as the leading ladies.
