Shahid Kapoor has converted to Islam! Before, all his fans die out of utter shock, let us clarify that we are talking about his character in Rangoon.
Shahid who is currently busy shooting for Vishal Bharadwaj's Rangoon along with Kangana Ranaut and Saif Ali Khan is not longer playing the role of a Sikh anymore.

According to sources, Shahid's character in AKvsSK is that of a sardar! The film's shoot will begin as soon as he wraps up Rangoon schedule, so when Vishal got to know about his role in AKvsSK, the director decided to make major changes to Shahid's role.
He was earlier playing the role of a Sikh officer which would have become a little similar to the role of AKvsSk so now his character in Rangoon has been changed to that of a Muslim officer.
The actor and the rest of the crew member were left in shock when Vishal made these drastic changes, but were happy about it too, seeing the director knows his job god damn well!
Shahid is putting a lot of effort into the Rangoon film much like how he invested himself in Haider. For Rangoon he shaved off his trademark beard, he is learning Japanese and doing a whole lot of things.
Poor fellow was even injured during the shooting of the movie. Not just him, another Japanese actor too hurt himself! From the leaked looks of the actors from the film, Rangoon seems to be shaping up quite well and we can't wait to watch the film on the big screen when it releases on September 30th.
