Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi has been making news for all the wrong reasons and there's a new one that's just added to its list of woes. First, it was Sonu Sood who walked out from the movie citing Kangana's high-handedness and bullying on the sets and now it seems like even Swati Semwal might follow his footsteps, as the producer has asked her to reshoot her scenes.
If all of this was not enough, reports state that the budget of Manikarnika has suddenly increased from Rs 70 Crore to Rs 100 Crore and the business head of Zee Studios, Mr. Sujay Kutty, has been sacked from the company, as he had given the green signal previously for the film to go on floors. However, the everyday increasing budget has caused the company to give him the pink slip, citing cost cutting as the reason.
Extra Budget For The Reshoot
The extra Rs 30 Crore is for the reshoot of several scenes in Manikarnika and Kangana Ranaut would be directing it. We'll have to see if the production house Zee Studios will release the quoted amount in the first place or not.
The Film Gets Multiple Changes
"It was originally a 10 day re-shoot. But now the film will have multiple changes. Ganesh Acharya is choreographing a song and dance routine with Kangana and Ankita Lokhande," said a source to Deccan Chronicle.
Kangana Is Working Really Hard On The Movie
"The number is a fancy one designed to bring in audiences for the film. The recovery of such an amount is not that easy, so Kangana is making sure that the film is now, worth the money," the source summed it up.
More Heads To Roll?
It is also reported that due to the additional budget burden of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, there will be many more heads to roll, citing cost cutting.
Will It Release On The Scheduled Date?
Considering all the walkouts, reshoots and employee firing for Manikarnika, we'll have to wait and watch if the movie will hit the theatres on the scheduled date of Republic Day 2019. Seeing how things are currently going, a postponement is imminent.
