Anurag Basu's directorial Life In A Metro was a refreshing change to the audiences as it specifically covered the struggles of the fast-paced city life. The plot was knitted with many stories showcasing ambition, greed, struggle and lonliness and it all connected pretty well with the audiences making the movie a hit at the box office. After a decade, Anurag Basu is all set to make the sequel Life In A Metro 2 and is scouting for lead actors and reports state that Rajkummar Rao will be a part of the movie.
DNA quoted a source by saying that Anurag Basu is impressed with Rajkummar Rao's work and is keen to cast him in the movie. "Anurag was impressed with Rajkummar Rao's repertoire. He was keen to cast him and discussed the idea with Bhushan. Both of them met the actor recently and offered him the part."
Also, Rajkummar has not given his nod yet and will take some time to decide if the dates will work out as per his schedule. "The Newton actor has been approached for the same track that features Kareena. He has liked the story, but is waiting to see if his dates can be worked out."
The film-makers have contacted Sidharth Malhotra and Nawazuddin Siddiqui as well, but both the actors have not given their nod either. A source said to DNA, "The script has been sent to Sidharth Malhotra, but reportedly he hasn't responded. Along with him, it has been offered to Nawazuddin Siddiqui as well."
The multi-starrer Life In A Metro 2 was first turned down by Arjun Kapoor, as the dates were clashing with his current movies and Anurag Basu contacted Ranbir Kapoor to star in the movie. Reports state that the Sanju actor has liked the script but has not given his nod yet. We'll have to wait and watch if Ranbir Kapoor will be a part of the movie or not.
