Hollywood's love for the zombie genre have been an age old saga. And now, it looks like the zombie bug has bitten Bollywood as well, with its latest zombie flicks, which filmmakers hope will entice younger crowds back to Indian films from Hollywood's living dead. After Rise Of The Zombie, the latest flick Go Gone Gone, featuring Saif Ali Khan, Kunal Khemu and Vir Das, has hit the theatres today. Directed by Krishna D K and Raj Nidimoru, Go Goa Gone is a wild, wacky entertainer and positively different from anything you seen before.
Story:
The story of Go Goa Gone revolves around the two dope heads Hardik (Kunal Khemu) and Luv (Vir Das), who are off for a business trip at Goa. This is when Luv comes across a free-spirited girl, Luna (Puja Gupta) who casually invites them to an exclusive underground rave party on a remote island. The party's host, a Russian Don-Saif Ali Khan(Boris), is a self-proclaimed zombie-hunter. And there begins the adventure, after the party goes horribly wrong... All of a sudden, they are accosted by zombies!
Trapped in the zombie island, the guys find a saviour in Boris. What happens once the trio wake up to a deserted island infested with zombies? Let the suspense be, watch out this zombie saga to know more.
Go Gone Gone has it's share of violence and gore, and mildly scary. But, the best part of the movies is that the filmmakers enthuses for its audiences oodles of laughter which keeps you rolling till the end. There are times you find yourself laughing aloud with the three boys and their wisecracks.
Performances By Kunal And Vir:
You will be surprised to see Kunal Khemu this time. Khemu excels in his fun-packed performance and sure a show stealer in this flick. You'll just love Vir Das's funny expressions and comic timing. The man is a laughter riot.
Saif Ali Khan- The Zombie Hunter
Saif Ali Khan's Russian-accented, burnt-haired, heavily-tattooed zombie hunter avatar Boris is a likeable one. Khan lays into the character of the Russian gangster with apparent relish.
Puja Gupta, the Miss Indian hottie, doesn't get much opportunity to flaunt her skills this time.
Go Goa Gone Music
The film's music is already a chart-buster. Especially the songs "Slowly Slowly", "Baba Ki Booty" and "Khoon Choos Le" which is presently the Youth-Favorite.
Verdict
Go Goa Gone is funny, witty, amusing, crazy and thoroughly engaging. And yes, it's definitely an one-time watch.
