Main Aur Charles Review
Main Aur Charles revolves around the life of notorious serial killer of the 1980's, Charles Sobhraj who ruled the media headlines for his famous crimes. Even though he was nothing more than a crook, his wit, style and intelligence had many in splits except for the reputed cop. Amod Kanth (Adil Hussain) who is narrating the story of this iconic criminal. The movie takes us on a joy ride through the life of French serial killer of Vietnamese and Indian origin who was nicknamed as "The Splitting Killer", "Bikini Killer" and "The Serpent". His escape from the highly guarded prison in the country by poisoning the guards to his charm over the ladies has been covered in this biopic.
Coming to the performances, Randeep Hooda nails the act of "The Serpent", Charles! Right from the Indian-Vietnamese accent, his swag to the criminal act, Randeep gets it right. A lot of them might find his fake accent irritating but as the story unfolds, the accent sinks in and Randeep's flawless performance takes you over. Apart from Randeep, another actor who befuddles you in a good way is Adil Hussain. His act of a righteous cop is simply too good! When Adil vents out his frustration on his wife and others on making Charles a celebrity, it will make you want to whistle.
Although the movie does get a little confusing, Main Aur Charles is a good one time watch especially if you have an interest to know about this "Bikini Killer".
