Bhagyashree back in <i>Janani</i>

Mumbai (UNI): Actress Bhagyashree who made a dream debut opposite Salman Khan in Maine Pyar Kiya is back as one of the lead actresses in Ultra Movies Pvt Ltd's Janani, which releases on August 25. Following the release of her debut film in 1989, Bhagyashree settled into matrimony and was seen in a couple of television serials and few films opposite her husband Himalaya Dassani. She played a cameo in the recently released Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif starrer Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye.

In Janani, Bhagyashree is paired opposite Aman Verma. The actress would also be seen sharing screen space for the first time with Ayesha Jhulka. Commenting on Bhagyashree's comeback to the silver screen Ultra movies MD and producer of the movie Sushilkumar Agarwal says, ''It was a great experience working with the very talented Bhagyashree. I'm pretty sure people would be really excited and eager to see her in a lead role after her absence from movies for a long time.'' Janani is the story of a woman's natural desire to be a mother and a mother's ultimate sacrifice for her child.

The plot revolves around Urmila (Ayesha Julka) an enterprising young woman, who runs a toy company and is happily married to Raj (Mohnish Behl), a businessman with interest in real estate. However when their young son Rahul (Vineet Raina) falls in love with Neha (Sonica Handa) and the young lovers decide to marry, Urmila and Raj who initially agree but unanimously put their foot down against the marriage when they know about Neha's parents (Bhagyashree and Aman Verma). The ordeal which began 20 years ago, when Rahul was diagnosed with brain tumor and an expensive operation seemed the only cure, Raj and Urmila stepped up to pay for the operation. Twenty years since, Rahul and Neha's undying love has renewed old and forgotten wounds. Their relationship has cropped up innumerable unanswerable questions and put everyone's life into jeopardy, including their own.

''Bhagyashree is sure going to surprise with her role and the performance in this film, this film has given her a chance to show her performance. Her role is of very strong woman. I am sure people would love this film as they have liked her earlier films and also the subject is very different,'' says Sushilkumar. The movie is directed by Chander Behl. The story, screenplay and dialogue have been given by Mohan Azad who earlier has done the screenplay for Madhur Bhandarkar's Chandni Bar.
