Amitabh versus Amitabh this May

It will be Amitabh versus Amitabh on May 25 when two films starring the Big B will be hitting the silver screen on the same day.

While we have already watched the mega star's Eklavya and Nishabd earlier this year, Bollywood promises an ample dose of Amitabh Bachchan this month too. Now, on May 25, two films starring Big B, Shootout At Lokhandwala and Cheeni Kum will be hitting the marquee.

Although Amitabh has been trying to avert this clash and had requested the producer of Shootout At Lokhandwala Sanjay Gupta to postpone the movie's release date. After pondering all aspects as well as Amitabh's request, Gupta found that May 25 is the best release date for his movie because early in June the third movie of the Pirates of the Caribbean series is set to hit the theatres.

So Gupta had to convince Big B that the box office clash of Shootout At Lokhandwala and Cheeni Kum would not be harmful as the two films belong to entirely different genres. Shootout At Lokhandwala is an action thriller about a real life encounter between police and gangsters in Mumbai in 1992.

On the other hand, Cheeni Kum is a lighthearted, feelgood comedy about a 60-year-old chef portrayed by Big B who falls in love with a 34-year-old woman Tabu.
