Amol Palekar is ready to direct his next film which goes on floor next month. Ask him any details on the starcast, theme or even the title of the film and he remains tight-lipped. However the one thing the director tips us on the film is about its music. "Music is going to blaze the charts all the way!"
Currently recording music for his film, Amol Palekar has managed an interesting combination of music maestros for his film in the form of music directors Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and lyricist Gulzar.
Palekar is in complete adoration for Gulzar who also wrote the lyrics for his last Hindi film Paheli. "He is a ZAR; he just rules over his pen; dictates his words; commands our emotions through his atypical lines. What a sensitive, popular and endearing Emperor. Gulzarjee's exceptional imagery, brilliant sense of beats, and precise choice of apt words have been offering a striking treat for last 50 years."
The mutual admiration society continues with singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan praising the musical sense of director Amol Palekar "Paheli's music is unforgettable; we just loved it! Amoljee's musical Thodasa Roomani Ho Jaaye had also offered a vivacious track. So when Amoljee briefed us about the songs for his next film, we were very charged. The song situations are so hilarious that we had to conceive electrifying tunes".
This trio has just recorded two songs. What's interesting is that Om Puri with his rock-solid base voice also tuned in for a stirring rap number for one of the songs.
