Aseem
seems
to
be
on
a
roll
these
days.
Soon
after
his
critically
appreciated
performance
in
The
Train
he
was
signed
for
the
remake
of
Pokhiri
and
Uru
Patel's
Hanuman.
He
was
signed
to
play
the
lead
in
Ashima
an
adaptation
of
the
award
winning
Bengali
novel.
Aseem
plays
a
very
challenging
role
of
a
suave
sophisticated
doctor
who
falls
in
love
with
a
trainee
doctor
with
a
mysterious
background.
And
Aseem
Merchant
who
is
on
a
spree
to
do
quality
cinema
literally
went
to
a
hospital
in
Bandra
to
do
research
on
his
character.
He
spoke
to
his
doctor
friends,
to
understand
the
nuances
of
the
character
of
a
surgeon.
'It's
a
very
beautiful
script,
with
different
layers.
It's
a
very
subtle
and
yet
challenging.
Though
I
have
not
read
the
original
novel
as
I
can't
read
Bengali,
but
I
got
a
fair
idea
after
reading
the
script.
It's
a
beautiful
story
as
expected
from
the
rich
Bengali
literature,'
says
Aseem.
He
adds,
'As
the
role
has
different
layers,
I
am
mentally
preparing
for
the
role.
I
am
speaking
to
my
doctor
friends
who
helping
me
with
insights.
