Model-turned-actor
Aseem
Merchant
is
juggling
roles
of
all
kinds.
After
playing
anti-heroes
in
Bullet
and
Emraan
Haasmi-starrer
The
Train,
Merchant
has
now
been
signed
to
play
the
mythological
character
of
Laxman
in
Uru
Patel's
Hanuman.
Keanu
Reeves
and
Shilpa
Shetty
will
play
Rama
and
Sita
in
the
film.
The
actor
is
also
playing
villain
opposite
Salman
Khan
in
Boney
Kapoor's
remake
of
Telugu
blockbuster
Pokiri.
It
is
learnt
that
the
Hanuman
project
went
to
Merchant
because
his
brother
Raju
and
Patel
were
close
friends.
In
fact,
Raju
conceived
of
the
project
but
died
of
cancer
before
it
could
be
further
developed.
But
it's
not
just
a
happening
career
that
Merchant
has
to
handle.
Playing
single
parent
to
his
eight-year-old
daughter
in
real
life
is
also
a
challenge
at
hand.
And
it
seems
he
is
managing
it
all
fine.
