So far the magician movie-maker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has allowed his talented sister Bela Sehgal (who's married to the late filmmaker Mohan Sehgal's son Deepak) to edit all his four masterpieces. But now things have changed. With Bela focusing on her directorial debut (a romantic comedy featuring singer Adnan Sami) Sanjay has no choice but to turn editor for his latest film Sawariya.

In fact now that Sanjay's fifth eagerly- awaited romantic opus has gone into post-production the director is busy using the scissors on his material. So far he's having a ball with what he's doing.

Says Sanjay, "It's a challenge to take over from my sister. But I think I'm managing quite well. It's a painful process to cut out what you've shot. And now I know how tough it was for Bela to cut the material in Khamoshi, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas and Black according to my vision and according to what was right for the narration."

What Sanjay misses are those ongoing bickering with Bela over every frame every scene and every sequence in those four films but Bela has moved on with kid-brother Sanjay's blessings.
