Prabhu Deva with Johnny Depp!

Jack Sparrow Johnny Depp, the captain of Pirates of Caribbean, will join hands with our own Michael Jackson Prabhu Deva in a film directed by Mira Nair. Mira, the director acclaimed for her films like Salaam Bombay, Vanity Fair, Mississippi Masala, and Monsoon Wedding is currently casting for her next movie Shantaram based on the novel by Gregory David Roberts. This film is being co-produced by Johnny Depp, who also plays the lead in the movie.

Prabhu Deva's last appearance on screen was in a short film by Santhosh Sivan on AIDS. Mira Nair was so overwhelmed with his performance in this short film and efforts are on to rope him into Shantaram too. Sources say Prabhu Deva will play a key role along with Johnny Depp in this multi crore venture.

The other big news about the film is, Amitabh Bachchan plays a crucial role in this film. Irfan Khan and Konkona Sen are also in the cast. Vishal Bhardwaj is composing music.
