DJ Aqeel detained for drug possession

Aqeel
was
detained
on
Tuesday
at
Dubai
airport
after
reportedly
being
caught
with
drugs.
The
drug
in
question
is
believed
to
be
Ecstasy
which
is
a
party
drug
taken
for
a
rush
of
energy.
He
has
been
charged
with
possession
of
drugs.
He
is
expected
to
undergo
urine
test
and
appear
in
court
on
Wednesday.
According to Mumbai Police, Aqeel was in Dubai to attend a multinational company's anniversary party. Aqeel is married to Sanjay Khan's daughter, Farha. His wife Farha claimed that Aqeel is being framed as he was caught in possession of drugs and not for consumption.
He is well known for his stint as an in-house DJ at Enigma, the nightclub of JW Marriott. He performed recently at the Abhishek-Aishwarya wedding. This is not the first time the rich and famous has been caught with drugs in Dubai. Vijay Raaz was caught in Dubai with drugs during the making of Deewane Hue Paagal. Also Ayesha Takia's beau Farhan Azmi was detained in 2003.
