There
are
actors
who
strive
for
playing
different
roles
throughout
their
lives.
Some
wait
for
this
for
years
while
some
don't
get
an
opportunity
like
this
in
an
entire
lifetime.
But not so for character actor Prateeksha Lonkar who has fast rose up to be a female actor who has managed to bag four different and extremely exciting roles in a matter of 2 years.
Hogging the limelight in Nagesh Kukunoor's Dor which came in 2005, she played an understanding mother of lead protagonist played by Shreyas Talpade. In the film she was shown to be hailing from Andhra Pradesh.
It was destination Rajasthan in her next release Dor which again brought her and Nagesh together. This time around she played a traditional woman married to Girish Karnad with Ayesha Takia as her daughter-in-law.
Just this month she was seen on the silver screen yet again in Milan Luthria's Hat Trick. As an urban Marathi woman who had managed to live along with an eccentric doctor husband Nana Patekar, she came up with a restrained performance that also had a slight humorous touch to it.
From Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan and Maharashtra, she is being seen as a woman hailing from Tamil Nadu in Hemant Hegde's debut directorial film Khanna&Iyer. She plays Mrs. Iyer, wife of a local MLA [Mushtaq Khan] in Navi Mumbai, whose daughter [played by Aditi Sharma] runs away with her boyfriend [Sarvar Ahuja].
