Ever since Viveck Vaswani's Dulha Mil Gaya was announced, there was a strong buzz that Shah Rukh Khan was only doing a cameo role in the film.

Says Viveck of the film, which also stars Sushmita Sen and Fardeen Khan, "I've finished shooting Shah Rukh's entry scenes and a few others apart from a song.

There's another great song that we're filming with Shah Rukh, and he has altogether 18 scenes in the film.

There's some 14 days of work left, which will happen on a Mumbai schedule and an international cruise liner in July. Shah Rukh is paired opposite Sushmita in the film. Do you still think he is doing a cameo after doing so much work?"

Just for you

Viveck says he was surprised by SRK's reaction when he went to him with the script.

"When I went to meet Shah Rukh, he simply said, 'You've come naa, so I'm doing the film. How many days do you want from me?

Just tell me to where to stand and what to wear and I'll do it. If you want money to produce the film, I'll give that to you too.' He is doing the film because of his personal relationship with me and for that I am grateful."

Viveck, who is currently shooting with Fardeen and Sushmita in Trinidad&Tobago, says it's been tough making Dulha Mil Gaya. "Trinidad&Tobago is not film-friendly territory.

DMG is the first film to be shot here, so from food to transport, everything had to be set up only for it.

There have been storms, beaches have been washed away, a lot of luggage was lost but the people of Trinidad&Tobago has been very cooperative.

We lost 30,000 kg of equipment at Barbados and 35 unit members got offloaded, and I had to charter a flight to take them to Barbados via Port of Spain.

Sushmita's make-up landed up in Granada, while her wigs landed in Bolivia! But we've managed to track back every piece of luggage," he says.

There's also been talk of West Indian cricketer Brian Lara doing a small role in DMG, but Viveck says that's still under negotiation.

Lara undecided

"Brian Lara is a legend. We've approached him to play a cameo in the film, but his representatives haven't got back to us yet. If Mr Lara does agree to do the part, we'll officially announce it.

I would also like to clarify that I haven't signed Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu to play Shah Rukh's parents."

Viveck adds that his good friend, TV actor and producer Anuj Saxena is presenting the film while Viveck himself is producing it. "Both SRK and Anuj are 20-year-old relationships. DMG owes its existence to them."
