Jodhaa Akbar makes presence felt at Cannes

Ashutosh Gowariker and his latest epic Jodha-Akbar made their presence felt at the 60th Cannes Film Festival. Ashutosh Gowariker made it to Variety's list of the 60 most important people to watch out at Cannes '07, while Jodha-Akbar's first visual was showcased amidst international buyers and media.

Sunita Gowariker, Executive Producer, who represented the Jodha-Akbar team, just got back from Cannes where she got an overwhelming response to the 2-minute promo, which was showcased for the first time.

Says Sunita Gowariker, "The reactions were amazing. Buyers for Germany, France and South Africa were very excited. Representatives from Venice and Rome were keen that Jodha-Akbar be showcased at their festivals."

Produced by UTV and Ashutosh Gowariker Productions, the film is slated for 12th October release.
