Kangana
Ranaut,
the
small-town-girl-with-
big-city-dreams,
is
slowly
but
surely
becoming
a
diva.
At
last
week's
Bollywood
Awards
in
New
York,
she
demanded
that
she
be
paid
US
$1,000
(approximately
Rs
40,000)
for
the
show
outfits
and
also
ran
up
US
$1,000
in
phone
bills
at
the
Radisson
Hotel
where
she
had
been
put
up.
Says
an
artist
coordinator
with
the
show,
"A
day
before
the
show,
Kangana
demanded
money
for
the
costumes.
The
organisers
weren't
obliged
to
pay
her
as
it
was
not
in
her
contract.
But
because
she
threw
a
tantrum
at
the
nth
hour,
they
didn't
have
any
choice
but
to
cough
up
$1,000.
But
that
wasn't
all,
rues
the
source.
"The
day
after
the
show,
Kangana
was
supposed
to
check
out
with
the
rest
of
the
artistes
who
had
come
to
New
York,
but
she
left
the
hotel
without
informing
anybody
and
the
organisers
got
worried.
Later,
we
learnt
that
she
had
checked
out
in
the
morning
and
had
taken
a
flight
to
Dubai.
The
final
blow
came
when
the
organisers
were
handed
a
phone
bill
of
$1,000
when
they
were
clearing
the
dues
for
Kangana's
room.
The
chief
artiste
coordinator,
Jackson,
admits,
"It's
true
but
I
cannot
comment
on
this.
Kangana's
business
manager
Jay
Shrikant
says,
"The
organiser
(Kamal
Dandona)
was
to
pay
us
1000
dollars
for
her
outfit.
They
didn't
pay.
They
promised
to
pay
us
the
outfit
amount
after
the
show
but
they
didn't.
Finally,
after
the
post-show
party
they
paid
the
amount
but
told
me
Kangana
had
run
up
a
huge
bill
of
800
dollars
on
international
calls
and
locked
us
out
of
the
hotel
room.
Kangana
had
to
spent
the
night
in
her
aunt's
room
at
the
hotel.
