Munnabhai touched hearts in Nepal

After preaching Gandhigiri in India , Munnabhai has now touched hearts in neighbouring trouble-torn Nepal. Lage Raho Munna Bhai was screened on October 2 in an ashram in Kathmandu as part of a week-long programme organised by India to mark the 138th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation. The UN's recent decision to observe October 2 as the International Day of Non-Violence was another cause for the celebrations.

Besides "Lage Raho", the second film in the Munnabhai series, Richard Attenborough's "Gandhi" and Shyam Benegal's docu-drama The Making of Mahatma were also screened as part of the Mahatma Film Festival.

Sectarian riots in Nepal last month killed at least 33 people and left thousands homeless. Hope Munnabhai brings peace amongst the clashing groups and teaches them the ways of the Mahatma.
