A shrine in memory of Mohammed Rafi

A shrine will be built in the name of late singer Mohammed Rafi in Fazeley Street in Birmingham. The shrine which is expected to cost somewhere around 20,000 Pounds will be planned by former film producer Tasawar Bashir.

According to reports the Indian High Commission is supporting the development and building of the structure will begin somewhere around June this year.

Rafi passed away on July 31, 1980, leaving the Indian music industry poorer. He is remembered for his immortal songs like Pardah Hai Pardah, Kaun Hai Jo Sapno Mein Aaye and hundreds more.
