Actress
Nagma,
who
is
currently
ruling
the
roost
in
the
Bhojpuri
film
industry,
has
cited
very
grave
reasons
for
abandoning
Bollywood.
She
alleges
that
the
communal
Shiv
Sena
was
raising
its
ugly
head
at
the
time
she
was
making
a
place
for
herself
in
Bollywood,
and
says
she
was
under
attack
for
bearing
a
Muslim
name.
Bollywood
too
was
not
unscathed
from
the
communal
bias,
and
a
lot
of
inconsequential
people
had
joined
the
industry.
The
communal
upsurge
had
given
way
to
racism
and
a
lot
of
controversies,
leaving
her
scared
and
unsure
about
whatever
work
she
was
doing.
She
says
that
southern
film
industry
is
a
stark
contrast
from
Bollywood,
as
journalistic
ethic
is
prevalent,
and
the
technology
used
is
far
superior
to
that
in
Bollywood.
It
might
be
recalled
here
that
Nagma
had
featured
in
hit
Bollywood
movies
like
Baaghi
and
Yalgaar.
She
feels
ecstatic
about
her
stardom
in
Bhojpuri
films,
and
proudly
says
that
when
the
history
of
the
Bhojpuri
film
industry
is
written,
her
name
will
always
be
there
as
an
iconic
figure.
She
even
says
that
regional
films
are
more
performance-
oriented
as
far
as
the
female
protagonist
is
concerned.
The
actress
has
six
Bhojpuri
releases
lined
up
in
2007,
after
which
she
is
planning
a
comeback
into
Hindi
films.
She
also
plans
to
dabble
in
direction,
but
feels
she
is
not
yet
ready
for
the
small
screen.
