Nikhil Advani to shoot in China

Director Nikhil Advani made a great start with Kal Ho Naa Ho (1993), directing for Karan Johar's home banner, Dharma Productions. But his first attempt to break away from Karan's shadow, Salaam-E-Ishq, ended in a failure.

However, the big-canvas director is undeterred and is now moving on to his next few projects, starting with his big-budgeted animation film, about which we have already told you.

Next on the anvil for Nikhil is the Akshay Kumar-Deepika Padukone project, tentatively titled, Mera Naam Chin Chin Choo. The action flick may well be shot in Shanghai, China, but only next year and as early as January. The actual shooting date will depend on Akshay's availability as the much in demand star will first shoot for Nagesh Kukunoor's sci-fi thriller, Tasveer (in September) and Yash Raj's action extravaganza, Tashan.
