Ram Gopal Varma's Nishabd has received mixed reaction from the audiences. Nishabd is the story of a 60 year old man falling in love with 18 year old girl. Reacting to this concept, Congress in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday has demanded a ban on film.

Congress spokesman Pervez Ahmed Khan explained that the film is against the Indian culture, therefore, the film should be banned. He also wrote a letter to Broadcasting Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi where he mentioned that actor Amitabh Bachchan is regarded as a role model in India and this movie will have an adverse impact on the people and the society. The film should therefore be banned in public interest.

Nishabd stars Amitabh Bachchan and debutant Jiah Khan in lead roles.
