Free run for Om Shanti Om, Saawariya

No release on a Friday before or after a biggie hitting the silver screen - Now this is more of a rule than an exception when a Yash Raj Film arrives in the town.

The rule has further got extended for the twin releases on November 9 - Om Shanti Om and Saawariya. Due to immense hype and massive prints that the two biggies are arriving with, distributors and exhibitors have taken a decision to give the two films a free run.

This is the reason why there is no film arriving not just on 16th November, a week after OSO and Saawariya arrive, but even 2nd November.

The logic is simple - Any film arriving on 2nd November would have to be discontinued in a week's time which is equivalent of being a suicide. On the other hand if at all a movie arrives on 16th November, then a) it would have to be at far lesser prints and b) in all probability it would be crushed with two biggies expected to be strong over second weekend too!
