Ranbir
Kapoor
celebrated
his
birthday
yesterday
(September
28)
without
any
fanfare.
"But
the
SMS
has
been
going
crazy.
When
I
woke
up
in
the
morning
there
were
at
least
45-50
messages
including
one
from
Mr.
Amitabh
Bachchan.
And
then
there
were
girls
on
the
road
screaming
Happy
Birthday.
It
felt
good," he
says
happily.
As
usual,
Ranbir
celebrated
his
birthday
with
a
quiet
dinner."
It
has
always
been
like
that
for
me.
Why
should
it
be
any
different
this
time?
I
had
dinner
with
my
parents
at
the
Hyatt.
Then
a
couple
of
friends
came
home.
No
big
noisy
party
for
me.
I'm
not
the
party
kind
at
all.
And
I'm
not
a
birthday
person.
Maybe
because
I
don't
like
to
build
expectations
around
one
day.
You
never
know
how
it
would
turn
out
to
be.
And
I
hate
disappointments.
For
me
the
greatest
happiness
is
to
share
my
evening
with
my
family.
Ranbir
hates
birthdays
but
loves
gifts.
"I've
already
got
my
gift
for
this
year.
No
gift
can
equal
Saawariya….ever.
Besides
that
I'd
have
liked
my
sister
Ridhima
to
be
here.
She
did
send
me
her
gift
from
Delhi."
And
does
it
feel
to
share
your
birthday
with
the
greatest
icon
of
the
nation?
"My
grandfather
Mr.Raj
Kapoor
was
a
huge
fan
of
Lataji.
I'm
myself
a
huge
fan
of
Lataji.
Just
to
tell
people
that
I
was
born
on
the
same
day
as
a
great
legend
like
her
gives
me
a
huge
high.
I
love
her
old
songs
from
RK
Films,
specially
'Aa
ab
laut
chalen"
(Jis
Desh
Mein
Ganga
Behti
Hai)
and
all
the
songs
of
Satyam
Shivum
Sunderam.
I
love
old
songs
of
the
1950s
and
60s.
My
all-time
favourite
number
in
the
world
is
'Kissi
ki
muurahanton
pe
ho
nissar"
by
Mukeshji"
