Rang De Basanti to be re-launched

UTV has ambitious plans up its sleeve. Besides spreading its wings in the international arena [co-producing The Namesake and planning international co-productions with Will Smith and M. Night Shyamalan], the corporate house is dubbing its 2006 hit Rang De Basanti in English.

In fact, UTV will re-launch Rang De Basanti as a crossover release in the international market. The original Hindi version was of 2.50 hours duration, while the international version will be of 2.10 hours duration -- 40 minutes shorter. Also, the title will be changed to Colour Of Sacrifice.

The international version for global audiences will have a limited theatrical release in the next few months.
